Megan Pilcher, Ed.D., ATC, LAT, is an Associate Professor and Program Director of the Master of Science in Athletic Training program at the 草榴社区. She brings more than 15 years of experience in athletic training education, program administration, clinical education, and professional practice. Dr. Pilcher earned her Doctor of Education in Educational Administration and Leadership, with a specialization in Adult and Higher Education, from the University of South Dakota; a Master of Science in Kinesiology from Western Illinois University; and a Bachelor of Arts in Athletic Training from Loras College.
Dr. Pilcher has extensive teaching experience across the athletic training curriculum, including emergency care, clinical assessment, rehabilitation, research methods, pathophysiology, and professional development. She is also actively engaged in student research mentorship, guiding graduate students in developing clinical questions, critically appraising evidence, and translating research findings into evidence-based clinical practice.
In addition to her academic and administrative roles, Dr. Pilcher has practiced athletic training across a variety of clinical settings, including collegiate athletics, secondary schools, sport clubs, and health systems. Her clinical experience encompasses a diverse range of sports, age groups, and practice environments, providing her with a broad perspective on the evolving needs and challenges facing athletic trainers in contemporary clinical practice.
Outside of her professional responsibilities, she enjoys running, traveling, gardening, sourdough, home improvement projects, spending time with family/friends, and enjoying all that Kansas City has to offer.
